A Classroom Observer Like Me: The Effect of Demographic Congruence Between Teachers and Ratings on Observation Scores

This analysis of data from a large school district in North Carolina finds that teachers experience “small positive increases” in their observation scores when they have the same race or gender as their classroom observers.
