Crosswalk for the High-Leverage Practices for Students with Disabilities and the Supporting Students in Poverty with High-Impact Instructional Strategies Toolkit

The Region 7 Comprehensive Center collaborated with the National Comprehensive Center to develop this crosswalk, outlining the connection between the High-Leverage Practices (HLPs) for students with disabilities (developed by the Council for Exceptional Children and the Collaboration for Effective Education Development, Accountability, and Reform) and the High-Impact Instructional Strategies (HIIS) from the National Center’s Supporting Students in Poverty toolkit. It is presented in four tables, each focused on one of the HLP domains, showing how each HLP aligns with HIIS to create a strong foundation for Tier 1 instruction across general and special education. The crosswalk aims to support collaboration among educators, providing strategies that are student-centered, research-backed, and applicable to teachers of all experience levels.
