Robin G. Jarvis

Robin G. Jarvis, Ph.D., serves as Director of the Region 7 Comprehensive Center and leads the Implementation of Florida’s B.E.S.T. Standards project. She is Vice President of RMC Research Corporation and Director of the Tampa office, with more than 10 years of experience providing professional development, training, and technical assistance to state departments of education in the United States, territories, and freely associated states. Dr. Jarvis also manages the Alabama Research Partnership for Improving English Learner Outcomes for the Regional Educational Laboratory Southeast. Previously, Dr. Jarvis served as the deputy director of the Regional Educational Laboratory Pacific and as the director of the Southeast Comprehensive Center.

 For more than 20 years, Dr. Jarvis served in Grades K–12 education roles in Louisiana from the classroom to the state education agency. These roles included serving as the assistant state superintendent for student and school performance, superintendent of Louisiana’s Recovery School District following Hurricane Katrina, and director of school standards, accountability, and assistance. Dr. Jarvis began her career as a kindergarten teacher in the East Baton Rouge Parish School System.

EDUCATION: Ph.D. in educational leadership and research from Louisiana State University; M.Ed. in curriculum and instruction/early childhood from Louisiana State University; B.S. in elementary education from Louisiana State University
