Sarah Hughes

Sarah Hughes provides support to the Region 7 Comprehensive Center’s Florida Standards Implementation project. She is a senior research associate at RMC Research Corporation with over 20 years of experience in working with state leaders to strengthen early childhood education, early language and literacy, standards alignment and implementation, PK-3 approaches, school readiness, and kindergarten transition.

Ms. Hughes engages in intensive and sustained work with state leaders across and within state agencies to assess state- and local-level needs to provide tailored and relevant support, align information and materials across systems, share evidence-based practices, and support state priorities. She also supports the Regional Education Laboratory Southeast’s School Readiness Partnership on the use of evidence-based instruction to support emergent literacy outcomes within a professional learning community framework.

Previously, she served as the early learning lead for the Northeast Comprehensive Center. In that role, she provided professional learning and meeting facilitation to multiple stakeholders, co-produced materials and resources, and partnered with state leaders on several projects, including the roll-out of revised state standards, prekindergarten standards alignment, state monitoring protocols, and kindergarten transitions.
