Tammy Dunn serves as the vice president of academic affairs for A+ College Ready, an education nonprofit devoted to supporting Alabama secondary schools as they raise academic expectations for their students. Ms. Dunn has spent 30 years as a career educator. For 17 of those years, she was a high school science teacher.
She was a recipient of the Presidential Award for Excellence in Science Teaching and was selected as the 2004 Alabama Teacher of the Year. She also served in district-level administration as the science supervisor for Jefferson County Schools and the chief academic officer for mathematics and science for Hoover City Schools.
While education for Alabama students is her professional passion, Ms. Dunn’s personal passion is time with her five grandchildren, along with golf, gardening, and travel.
