Evidence-Building Opportunities Under ESSA: How States Can and Should Generate Evidence to Drive Better Outcomes for Students
Content Start
This document from Chiefs for Change and Results for America is written to help state education agencies better understand opportunities associated with the implementation of the evidence requirement of the Every Student Succeeds Act (ESSA). The resource provides an overview of the requirement and offers guidance for states. Guidance is offered by describing opportunities for states, key actions they can take, and examples from across the country. The guide covers the following topics: developing and adopting policies and practices to build evidence, building tools and infrastructure to make evidence-building possible, and establishing partnerships to strengthen and accelerate evidence-building efforts. An appendix includes suggested state actions for building evidence and recommended resources for further study.
