Content Start
In this short, user-friendly animated video from the Institute of Education Sciences, parents are encouraged to instill a positive attitude about learning and math in their young children. Two evidence-based strategies shared in the video that parents can use to support an interest in mathematics as well as the development of early math concepts in their children are:
- Teach children to learn to describe their world mathematically; and
- Teach early geometry, patterns, and measurements.
In this short, 4-minute video, examples are provided to help parents use these strategies when doing simple, everyday activities with their children.
