Shannon Lasserre-Cortez
Shannon Lasserre-Cortez, Ph.D. specializes in the technical support, research, and evaluation of education programs. At RMC, Shannon leads the Alabama Improving Student Excellence in Math project and provides research and evaluation support for the Region 7 Comprehensive Center (R7CC) and the Regional Educational Laboratory (REL) Southeast projects. She has extensive experience as a methodologist on quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods research and evaluation studies. She formally served as the senior research lead for the REL Southwest in Louisiana. Prior to her REL and Comprehensive Center work, Dr. Lasserre-Cortez also served as project director for the Integrated Longitudinal Data System at the Picard Center for Child Development and Lifelong Learning at the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where she conducted research focused on early childhood education, literacy, dropout prevention, and workforce development.
